I have got the American Versions of RK #'s 1-16. That's all that's out so far I get them for almost $8USD I still buy them though. If I were to figure out exactly how much money I've spent, I would probably be pretty upset.
Oh I spent approximately $500 for the mangas, series, movies... I know... BAD! lol Now I'm buying Initial D, lol The car racing scenes are just quite realistic I don't know cars either, but I do drive like a crazy ass, lol

Eventually, groups called, "Anime Addicts Annonymous" might start popping up everywhere and I wouldn't be surprised if a large number of us would start appearing at these....after kendo practice of course .

Man, I never thought people paid this much attention to the kanji. Guess I'm farther behind in my Japanese than I thought .

Lol, yeah, every time I came home with a new one my parents would always ask me why I kept buying them. I would always say, "Because eventually we're gonna move and I won't be able to get them anymore." That and they're so much cheaper in Japan than overseas .

These are the manga that I own
六三四の剣 (Musashi no Ken #7)
風と剣 (Kaze to Ken #3)
会津おとこ賦 (Aizu Otoko Uta #1-3)
るろうに剣心 (Rurouni Kenshin #1-3)

I plan on buying the rest of Aizu Otoko Uta later. I want to find more Kaze to Ken and Musashi no Ken manga, but of course those are hard to find. If anyone know of any resourses that would have it please let me know.

Kateyph, the Kanji you are using for Rurouni Kenshin are wrong. I can't say anything about the Rurouni part since it's not in kanji at all but the kenshin is wrong. The correct form is above in my post. I am not doing this to be mean, so don't get that impression. I'm just passing a little knowledge for the future to avoid problems with Anime otaku who think that they know everything about the Japanese language after watching for several years and reading online websites with the 100 most common phrases and words used in the Japanese language. I haven't met one of those people before, but I am pretty sure that they do exist LOL.

Actually, you're both right. Kateyph was using simplified Chinese characters for "Kenshin" and you were using Japanese kanji. China uses a simplified form of characters in an effort to increase literacy based on the idea that simplified characters are easier to learn. Japan based their writing system on Chinese characters a few centuries ago when trade first began between the two nations and was popularized by one individual in the nobility (can't remember his name though). Some Chinese characters remain the same while others were simplified but, in my view, they should have just stuck with the traditional characters. Just some food for thought .
So he mush have been reading a Chinese translated version. I guess you learn something new every day.

I guess he wanted to emphasize the name rather than the fact he was a wanderer. In the manga I think they actually use the kanji rather than hiragana but I could be wrong since it's been a while since I read through them. I really should break open that box and read them again. Although if I do that, my gf's friends would probably do something drastic to get their hands on them (anime addicts).

Yeah, that's about how much I paid for mine per volume (roughly Y340 but I don't know what that is in US$ using the exchange rate from 6-8 years ago). I was disappointed when I fould out that the tv series, after Kenshin defeats Shishio, that they didn't continue following the original manga and went a different direction instead of introducing Tomoe's brother. How sad .

I don't qualify myself as an addict coz I haven't watched much animes in the past 5 years ever since I started college. I only own 2 sets of animes, Rorouni Kenshin, and Ninja Scroll series, oh Initial D is coming soon so that's 3 I'm scary when I'm obsessed with something, I buy tons of stuff.... so I try not to And I think we all agree most Kenshi has some sort of anime backgrounds, but you won't see me there, I'm not that much of a anime freak, lol But you'll see my bf's brother there

Some body said that if you write るろうに in kanji you get 浪客 . This is not actually the case - it should be 流浪人 . However, Watsuki explicitly states that he created this reading himself - it's not normal Japanese, as is clear from the fact that 人 is read as に .
You're right, I don't know why I said that either. Also, in chinese is 流浪客剣心 she left out 流. Same thing anywayz
