1. japan, 2. korea, 3..
i heard this year japan doesn't have any super star. but, they are selecting their team based on kenshi who can win the match as quickly as possible. no going into OT type thing.. it would be something to watch.. korea will be very close again.. but not sure if they will win. pete |

Japan #1, Korea #2, third place is dependant on the draw but the usual suspects will be in contention. So depending on the draw this scenario could happen again for one of the teams that are heavy favorites. |

I didn't like that format and hope it has changed. For those of you not aware, it was a partial round-robin in groups of 4 or 5. Each team fought the team previous and next on the list, with last and first on the list fighting each other, just like you do for shinsa. Two best records advance but the strongest team may not have the best record - they may get second on wins/points depending on the quality of the opponents and how the list is arranged. Then you have the funky situation like Curtis describes.
You can see a discussion of all this for WKC 12 here. |
