Default A true katana master (giggles)
That's what I call bullshido at its finest!

The best part is the dancing-like footwork...

IMPORTANT: notice how he's holding the sword...

I don't know why but this is not taking me by surprise...
The most hilarious thing is that this supposed "sword master" doesn't even know how to hold a katana properly...

the most positive thing that can be said for him, is that at least he did not hurt himself.....

The title said MJER, but he was doing seiteigata. Is he aware of the difference?

Oh, and soetetsuki was done sideways?

I think he was refering to doing the MJER style of seiteigata, which is slightly different that other styles, in noto and such. It'd be pretty hard to get shodan without knowing the difference between koryu and seitei.

What a tool! Goons like him give legitimate martials arts a bad name.

His sageo was tied MSR style, his teacher's teacher is MSR, so I wonder where the MJER came into it? Maybe Richard Obbard (his teacher) is MJER?

Sorry Scott, from what I could see he definitely cast the sageo over his saya and tied it to his left.

TBH if he was going for Shodan I can see why they passed him - I have seen a lot worse pass their Shodan. In fact I have seen a lot worse pass their Nidan and Sandan. He came across as an Aikidoka doing Iai - his back foot was not straight and definitely at an Aiki angle. For me his worst form was Soete Tsuki.

On the first clip; wow how awful was he. Forget boxercise we now have Iai-aerobics

Apologies - I didn't see him tie it, only noticed it 'looked' tied to the right of the hakama knot during a kata.

Nice to see Dave Ansell is still practicing...

FIrst clip: So now we know what Elvis has been up to. Great dance steps, yes, but omg wobbly knees and horribly gyrating hips! it's almost indecent *blushes*
What happened to stable hara?

Imagine doing that whole routine in a dojo - people would laugh themselves silly, then ban you or only bring you in for the end-of-year goof practice/party.

Then again, there's a lot to be said for making people laugh. And he does get a good golf swing in occasionally!

I don´t know much about iaido, so I can´t comment on the MJER-whatever arguments. But I say he looks definitely like someone seriously trying to do something serious and knowing a certain amount of what he does. So I think he should not be compared to the silly dances-with-swords-guy and should not be laughed at...
