In my village, a lady whom was my senior friend got married to a guy from Norway and moved to Norway. One day, she came home and asked how I felt walking with a white man (my husband). Proud! I replied in a friendly manner. I asked why?.. She said, she felt funny when people looked at her with a white man. I asked why?... She said, because I think those people think that I'm from Pattaya. I said, so!??; accept it if you are and ignore it if you aren't (in again a friendly manner) I advised her to let them look and to let them think which I don't get upset by it because I believe they don't know your journey. They only see at that point when they see you. Besides, they might not think that way. She listened quietly. We carried on our conversations and so on. Before I left her place she was satisfied with me that helped clear her mind.

We continued to be friends but then after they built a house, a big house, villagers call their house ' Farang House '; she has changed. She became cold to me. I was very disappointed in her but then thought okay, she has shown her colour then I moved on.http://www.thailandqa.com/forum/imag...lies/party.gif

Have any of you experienced some thing similar?

It happens in every country

if one marries up and the woman is much younger than the man
you will hear the exact same mumblings behind backs.
that she only married for money. and I am not talking about thai.s but farang marrying farang.

the question your friend asked about being ashamed of being with her husband says more aobut her person than about thai farang relationship.

one of my thai wifes cousin was married to beautiful thai woman but this woman
did not want to be seen with his family because she thought they were too poor
and didn't have any class.

the whole family did not like her for this reason so they were divorced this was 10 yrs ago
now she wants to come back to him she realized how wrong her actions were, but he is married again.
