Default New Muay Thai Show on G4TV!
Thought I'd be honest with everyone.

I work for a show called Champions of Champions Elite on G4TV. It features Muay Thai fighting. I was wondering if anyone here is familiar with it.

http://coc-elite.com

We recently showed last years' Kings Cup on the 22nd and will be showing the Finals on November 19th:

http://community.coc-elite.com/video...Nov-19th-.aspx

If you have heard of it, do you like it? Would you like to see more shows like it? Do you enjoy Muay Thai? Any feedback from you guys would be much appreciated. I'm a real person and, unless I get banned, I will be coming back during work hours to read/answer replies. Thanks!!

To the mods - If you interpret this as spam, by all means delete it/ban me. I apologize if I'm causing trouble.

Oh, absolutely! I wasn't planning to make posts all willy-nilly all over your board... That would be very obnoxious! I would never do that. It would be bad for everyone.

As I said, I'm not here to cause trouble. Just to let people (who may enjoy it?) know about a good--but relatively unheard of--new show.

Thank you so much for letting me stay.

Thank you for your honest solicitation for feedback.

Only a limited subset of members of this forum would have access to G4TV - many do not live in North America.

I've not heard anything about this program or the King's cup. In order to answer your questions I followed the links provided. Based on a brief look at the site, I'm not particularly interested. But then I've no interest in Muay Thai competition to start with. Other kendoka may feel differently.

If you are in a position to pitch programs to your channel's producers, I would be interested in a review of the combat arts that focused on training and people of note within a given art. See the BBC's Mind, Body and Kick-Ass Moves for something in that vein. Obviously the more kendo the better, but any coverage of combat arts outside the usual "ring" spectacles would be much appreciated.

Judging from the material on the coc.elite site, I suspect G4TV is not in the business of commissioning original productions. A pity.

Hey, there! Sorry I didn't reply sooner; I can only reply to work things from work, so the weekend got in the way. I'll be here M-F until 6pm PST to answer questions/reply to comments.

Moving on...

Actually, I don't work for G4TV, I work for the production company in charge of Champions of Champions Elite. And, if this season is a success--if people watch it and/or go to our website to get the hits up--then we'll be greenlit to not only film a whole new season, but to hold LIVE fights around California as well (with all of the WMC fighters who showed up on COC-E as well as local greats from around the USA). That's what we're hoping for anyway.

However, I did copy down your feedback to send to my boss.

Thank you very much for taking the time to reply!

Ugh. Yeah. They just dropped THAT bomb on us last Thursday. Terrible.

We're hoping, if we get enough support from people watching and/or getting up the hits on our website, that we'll be getting a second season--after which, the first season can be streamed online. So, even if you can't watch it now, if you're interested, please pass the word around--maybe we'll get lucky and can "return the favor" by letting you watch online. :\

Thanks for taking the time to reply!

I just looked through the promo clips of the fighters. First of all, I would like to see fight scenes in the women fighter promo clips. It's not the Bachelor show.

If you are talking about muay thai, I feel Naruepol is the only one worth watching. I think he has good techniques. Madsua is ok. The other 2 fighters, almost seem like I am watching MMA. Don't get me wrong, I like watching MMA fights, but Cosmo and Merza are not very muay thai. It's like watching some fat American at in a sumo match.

Your first comment is actually a complaint I hear a lot--and totally agree with!--and I'm going to pass it along to my boss. Hopefully if enough people complain about this, they'll change the videos on the website. The episode that featured Julie Kitchen VS Angie Parr was actually one of (in my opinion) our better episodes. Those ladies are VICIOUS when it comes to fighting and at times put in even more "umph!" into their fighting than the men have. It'd be nice to be able to show that.

In tonight's episode, Naruepol Fairtex is going up against Cosmo Alexandre. And Tum Madsua gets thrown into the mix as well. The fights are pretty amazing even if you only watch them to observe the differences in their styles.

Thanks again for replying!

At first the trailer reminded me of Kibakichi (which I love, but is total camp) and then it got awesome. Plus, the lead is quite handsome. I enjoyed watching that.

Thanks to everyone who tuned in on Friday!!

The next episode is on Dec. 19th...

But, if you're interested, in the meantime there's going to be a PPV showing of the 2010 Kings Cup Super 8 Tournament LIVE--for the first time in North America--on December 5th:

http://community.coc-elite.com/video...PPV-Dec-5.aspx

Thanks again!!

I'll be around if anyone has any questions/comments.

Hey, Everyone!

The season finale of our Muay Thai show, Champions of Champions Elite is on December 17th on G4TV!

For the last one we're going to be showing the Tyrone Spong VS Nathan "Carnage" Corbett fight from last year. This fight was a pretty big deal! Mired in controversy from the start, Spong would only fight Corbett if he didn't use his elbows. A confusing referee call (made by Paulo Tocha of Bloodsport and Predator 2 fame) and two KO's later the entire audience was in an uproar on what the heck happened. Was the ref unclear? Did Nathan deserve to get disqualified after knocking Spong out twice (like Jaxx in Mortal Kombat)? We'll be showing the whole thing, including the craziness that ensued afterward (people from the audience rushing into the ring, the commentators getting into a fight, etc).

Here's a quick promo:

http://community.coc-elite.com/video...ale-Promo.aspx

We also have a recent video interview (from last week!) with referee Paulo Tocha on the whole matter. If I get the chance, I'll try to put it up for you.

I'd like to thank all of you for letting me hang out on your forums. It's been great getting to know all of you. I really loved hearing all your feedback as well! You're all awesome.

I know there were a lot of problems on December 5th, but we are still airing the 2010 Kings Cup tournament on PPV and Video On Demand for the rest of the month if you're interested. Just check your listings if you still want to check it out.

Also, if you liked our show at all, and want to see more Muay Thai on TV, just go to our website. We have lots of clips in the Community section. Plus the Official blog is updated twice a week.

Anyone planning to tune in?
