You should normally have no problem asking for a receipt. In the big stores with electric tills you will get it automatically. At the mom and pop hardware stores you will have to ask. Just say "kor bi-set". If you want a full receipt for tax reasons then you will have more trouble. Try giving them a namecard for the orphanage and ask for "bi-set dtem".

Default Receipts for goods
As I am buying a lot of building materials and tools for an orphanage I will be working at I was wondering if receipts were issued. Is there any obligation for shop owners to provide a receipt for these type of goods ? If not; am I able to ask for one? I am wanting to be accountable for the money I am spending as it is coming from personal donations here in Australia.
Also , would it be rude to barter for extra discount by mentioning that the goods are for an orphanage?
Any info would be appreciated.

Asking for one should be no problem unless you have Laryngitis, getting one is an entirely different question.
