One of the reasons why the number "9" is considered lucky by Thais is that it is the product of 3X3

"3" is considered lucky as it is the number of the main units of Buddhism
1) The Buddha, 2)The Sangha (the monks) and 3)the Dharma, the word of Buddha.

the second one is indeed a school name, more exactly, an abbreviation of the school name. the second letter stands for "wittaya", which appears in many school names. they don't put the entire school names. children wear a pin with their school's logo too. students also have their names embroidered on the other side.

Q1 : number nine in Thai is à¡éÒ pronounced "gao" which is the same pronouncation with the word ¡éÒÇ (as in ¡éÒÇ˹éÒ) which means progressing = prosperous.

Q2: as Betti said, it is school name. In this case: Ê.Ç. is ʵÃÕÇÔ·ÂÒ (Satriwitaya School)
