Hello! I'm from England & having never been to Thailand, I am planning a 3 month trip there starting in August. I have quite a few tattoos (all over my arms, also around my ankles (a few more too). Due to the heat it might be very uncomfortable covering them up with clothes, but would it even more uncomfortable revealing them? My question is: will I fit in in Thailand? I'm not too concerned about areas heavily frequented by farangs (where I am guessing everyone is used to tattoos - but I could be wrong, so any information would be much appreciated), but what about for example if I & my female friend (who has a couple of small tattoos only) go trekking among the hilltribes? Or if were to cross the border into Cambodia (different forum, perhaps) ? Will the police think I'm a criminal? (I'm anything but that - I'm very friendly & polite). Thanks in advance for any advice!

I guess there shouldn't be any problems if u behave urself and respect the people here... saw lotsa foreigners with tatoos but it don't seens to bother the locals...

Though I also saw some farangs (minority) without any tatoos but choose to walk topless in the airport, public places, shopping malls, etc .. THAT, i think is unsightful though... mai nah doo loey...
