Yup, it's looking good at the moment, seems it was a botched attempt, with only the detonator exploding, and one of the guys caught.
Kinda surreal isn't it, and it's gonna get worse before it gets better.
Jesus, I can't beleive they got past security again!!
At the moment they're saying that there has only been one injury and that was the person wearing the rucksack that was detonated
Please not again!
BBC Radio has just reported that Scotland Yard are attending three "incidents" at London tube stations. There's an unconfirmed report of smoke seen at one station, and University College Hospital has apparently gone onto emergency alert.
Fingers crossed for all down that way. |
At the moment, the only guy injured appears to be surrounded by armed police in UCL hospital. The incident at Warren Street may have been a nail bomb, but that hasn't been confirmed. The bus one blew out all the windows on the top deck, and some geezer with a flaming rucksack was chased around Oval station. Thats it for now, but I'm literally 200m down the same road as Warren Street station, and its chocabloc, nobody is allowed anywhere near it and the fuzz is periodically extending the cordon.
Just heard on the radio that some armed cops rushed over to a hospital. Suspect? Hope all of you are OK over there...
And why is it that there's always one near UCL?!?!?!?

im waiting for isaac to pipe up.......please do, i will enjoy reporting your post

There are 3 million passengers a day on the London underground.... the bulk of these travel between 07:00 and 09:30 or 15:30 and 18:00... If you want to attack using chemical / bio weapons then you just need to be carrying a bottle in your bag... What kind of security do you think can be put in place that wouldn't bring the city to a grinding halt in seconds? Even when the Underground is closed at night, there are nealy 4000 people down there doing maintenance / cleaning / re-stocking etc... I haven't used the tube for years and I don't intend to start now... they really do have to attend to security but it's a bugger of a task... Cheers |

These days I found myself spotting London's scenery on TV for all the wrong reasons!! Like, Stockwell station is where all the national coaches will stop by going anywhere South of London... And I had memories of that place for the many kendo-related occations travelling in between London and Brighton... http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/frown.gif
For my London friends, take good care of yourself, and stay out of trouble. May the Force be with you. |
This is madness and crazy.. I just hope no one get hurt...
We'll have to wait for the internal investigation's conclusion to understand what really happened, anyway the pressure is on and with all the existing tension i don't think it'll be the last accidental shooting.
The gits are hiding out in some flat near my work place and the police has told people not to leave the office ;( sigh!!! i want to go home
It seems like they were just detonators with no actual explosives... at least that's what the early reports have said. I sure hope that this is the case.
Perhaps if it is then the police might be able to get hold of some live perpetrators which, if this incident is connected to the other one of two weeks ago, could be useful. They're saying nobody was hurt, I just hope it's true. |
