I'd have to say the grooviest marley song is so much trouble in the world. I can see it now. I'd be lying in a field somewhere away from all the sappy people crying cause they're going to die, and I'd just stare at the sky and enjoy the tunes. That would rule....except for everyone's eventual destruction.
So much trouble in the world now So much trouble in the world now Bless my eyes this morning Jah sun is on the rise once again The way Earthly things are going Anything can happen You see men sailing on their ego trips Blast off on their space ship Million miles from reality No care for you, no care for me So much trouble in the world now So much trouble in the world now All you got to do is give a little Give a little, give a little One more time YE-A-H! YE-AH! So you think you have found the solution But it's just another illusion So before you check out your tide Don't leave another cornerstone Standing there behind We've got to face the day Ooh-we come what may We the street people talking We the people struggling Now they are sitting on a time bomb Now I know the time has come What goes on up is coming on down Goes around and comes around So much trouble in the world So much trouble in the world So much trouble in the world There is so much trouble There is so much trouble There is so much trouble There is so much trouble in the world There is so much trouble in the world |

jeez that's a tough one
i have seriously been sitting here for 10 minutes going through all the songs I know, and I can't think of the perfect one. It would have to me one that is not only a treat for the ears but also sentimental to provide some consolation for the tragedy, but not sad... inspiring. Every time i think of one i immediately rule it out... too heavy... too sad... too corny... too short... too aloof... too plain... too angry... crap the decision is too hard. I decide to leave people with the sounds of their own thoughts and their goodbyes. |

I just asked all my family and the answers were:
Mum: That's easy Bittersweet Symphony by the Verve. Dad: Hmm... Maybe Here Comes Your Man by the Pixies. It would be hilarious if God sang lead on that one, or maybe The Diamond Sea by Sonic Youth, it's lovely and 16 minutes long, personally I 'm not in a rush to die. Brother: Song 2 by Blur. [for the americans and others it's the one that goes WHOOHOO!!] |

Always look on the bright side - monthy python "life's a piece of shit, when you look at it" "and life's a laugh and death's a joke it's true... you'll see it's all a show keep 'em laughing as you go.. just remember that the last laugh is on you ! " |

maybe Under Pressure by Queen + Bowie. Especially for the end "This is our Last Dance/ This is ourselves Under Pressure" PS Lliromannic: you have one hip family.... my dad would probably pick some neil diamond (not bad) my mom would pick some Bette Middler (BAH), and my sister would pick whatever lame-o trash flavour of the week pop/r&b is new. Anything from the early Ramones and from the later albums: "I don't wanna grow up" written by Tom Waits. I forgot the name of the album. i'll select that as my tentative choice. As a substitute, borderlining a little too sappy, i'll pick "goodbye to romance" by the ozz-man. |
