NEVER push off with the front foot when moving foward, this will cause many problems. I am not a specialist on the "longer leg" subject, but maybe if you put your feet closer or farther apart either vertically or horizontally might help? There is also a possibility that you are could put more weight on one foot, but maybe you should ask your sensei, or maybe even your doctor.
Good luck though. Ahmed. |

One of my legs are shorter than the other (by about .25-.5 inches) and so whenever i do the footwork, the left hip is uncomfortable.. i can feel the extra weight on it... a sort of pulling sensation... i can temporarily alliviate it by stretching my leg by twisting my body with the leg still braced on the ground but then it starts to feel uncomfortable again//
have any of you heard accounts of this or have any advice? mabye some stretches, or a change in footwork technique? also, when doing sliding footwork, do you suggest i push off with the front, or with the rear? |

One of my legs are shorter than the other (by about .25-.5 inches) Kendo footwork is uncomfortable for virtually everybody who starts and everybody is more comfortable with the hips twisted. Jakob |
