I was in the office supply store the other day when lo and behold, I encountered a display of "Kendo" pens...
![]() "A New Line Added to the Zebra Family" Edison, NJ, June 1, 2005- Zebra Pen Corp. proudly announces the newest addition to its impressive line of writing instruments, the Kendo line. The first to be introduced in the line is the ball point pen and mechanical pencil. Kendo ball points and pencils are available in black, blue and red, and boast a sleek, stylish design. With a soft rubber grip to the tip, Kendo is sure to become a favorite. The Kendo ball point pen contains smooth, scratch-free ink and is available in 0.7mm medium point. The pencil is sold with sturdy 0.7mm Zebra lead. Kendo is the art of Japanese Swordsmanship. The word “Kendo” translates to: “The Way of the Sword.” (“Ken” meaning sword; the character “Do” meaning the way or path.) It is rooted in the traditions of Budo, the Martial Way . Kendo is both exhilarating and demanding to learn. The sword is an integral part of this art, the way the pen is to writing. The name Zebra is as unique as the products we sell. Zebra Pen Corporation offers a full line of writing instruments including ball point pens, highlighters, mechanical pencils, gel rollerballs and correction pens. At Zebra Pen, we pride ourselves in quality, innovation and value. We stand behind our name and guarantee satisfaction and ultimate writing performance. http://www.zebrapen.com/press%20room%20art1.htm http://www.zebrapen.com/gel-kendo.htm http://www.zebrapen.com/pencil_kendo.htm I'm not quite sure what to make of this. They seem to be advertising it as "in the same way you need a sword to do kendo, you need a pen to write." ![]() |
