You have to give the kid credit, he is actually very good at what he does. There is alot of training that went behind it to pull those moves off. Some of you question his moves as too fancy, which is true. However, he is in a contest where the judges are probably looking for these fancy moves.
But also you have to remember, even though we practice Kendo, we don't hold a monopoly on what swordsmanship is. In fact, there is no way in hell you can say what we do now is even remotely close to a real sword duel. No one in this day and age fight with real swords anymore, so really there is no comparison (it's not like mixed MA where you can test out difference style in non-weapon fighting). |
