That would be an interesting discussion. I can't write in French anymore, since it's been 10 years since I even spoke or took a class in it. But, I can read it pretty well.

Maybe there is a French kendo website that could facilitate a French forum, so they can moderate vulgar French words, phrases and so on.
There are already many French Forums. But for me the idea is more to say hello to the others Kendoworld french speakers.

Hello Chevalier !

First, I just created this thread for fun, I have no real idea of what is its purpose...!

You know, when I discovered this forum, I founded a little bit exclusive the use of english. I mean, it takes me time to dive into, and know, realizing how interesting it is, I think it could be funny to have a space where people who -like me- it is costly for to write in english can share with people more ables (like... Canadians by example, or everybody knowing about french a little).
So if this corner of french-speaking breathing can help people ignorant in enlo-saxons idioms to keep a feet in the forum, I think it will be pretty nice idea !

And... it is just one little thread ! Not a forum within the forum !

I have have things in mind:
-This is a lounge, a place to speak about al and nothing...
-...in english and sometimes in a strange language called "french"...
-...for everybody...
-...where subjects could be treated in a mor "francophonian" way of thinking (Belgian Beer, Free Quebec, Norh Saharian's Keikos, etc. etc.)

Please tell me what do you think about it !
Shall we try the experience?

As you may have noticed in the thread "Why do the Americans the French?" I have defended the honor of France against the Barbaric Americans. So a decoration of at least Chevalier might be in order here.
Just kidding but why do want a special French Corner, I mean it is imperative that we all profit from this medium. Not everybody in the world speaks or understands French but a lot more understand English. Don't get me wrong I love France and the French way (well not everything) but a lot of folks would feel left out this way.
But other than that "Bonne courage avec la lutte contre le Monde Anglophone"
This forum is run by some Japanese-speaking New Zealand blokes. They have an English-language magazine and this website is a part of that.
Maybe there is a French kendo website that could facilitate a French forum, so they can moderate vulgar French words, phrases and so on.

I personally think that french stuff rocks. I think Dumas was one of the greatest authors ever, I love Count of Monte Christo. And, get this, I have the same birthday as Napoleon who was decidedly awesome too. Vive la France!

You are right to to give it a try but a forum in the forum is indeed a bit strange. I can understand reasonably the written French and if you don't use slang words it's ok. But I'm a bit better in expressing myself in English (or Dutch of course), but as a part time Francophile I will look into this coin Francaise when there's news. Let's see what happens.
The link to the thread that I spoke about is here if you are patient enough to struggle through it all.
Where about is your Dojo? And have we met by any chance at the Ken no Michi Seminar in 2002?
