It's actually one of the first "Viral Marketing" projects undertaken. It was released via email to friends and then forwarded ad nauseum. Only after it was very widespread did it appear on Aussie TV.

Gotta love aussie beer ads. Has anyone seen the Fosters one where a good-looking, blonde aussie chick at a bar skulls the whole can, then crushes it against her forehead? I love that one. It didnt air on TV in australia because noone here drinks that crap. I think it was aired in the US.

It's based on the O Fortuna section of Carmina Burana by Carl Orff.

Also famously used in the Classic John Boorman film: Excalibur and the Old Spice ads.
