When a Kenshi makes you angry
 

First, don't tsuki him. Your profile says you are not ranked yet. Besides, doing tsuki against him won't make him any friendlier. Second, what rank is he and how long have you been at the dojo? Maybe he just needs to warm up to newcomers.

Just ignore him. Attitude adjustments are your sensei's job.

If he is only there once or twice a month, why care? And sometimes you just have to train with unpleasant people. See it as an exercise in keeping your cool...it is good for keiko.

Kitsune, from reading what you wrote here and in the 10 things post (the part where you wrote something about hating it when another kenshi thinks they are better than you and you can see that they aren't) I'd say that maybe you need to examine your own attitude in Kendo first.

I'm not going to write, "please don't take offense at this," because I have a feeling that you will. I think you'll probably take offense because I would have and from what you've written and your profile I have a feeling that we are a lot alike. I'm 26, female, work in the media field, and am rather new to Kendo myself.

I also used to get upset about other kenshi in my dojo. Not for the same reasons though, my beef was about the kenshi going out of the line during yakusoku-keiko, thus making me go through the line again and again with no rest. But I've realized that devoting attention to what others were doing was bringing my Kendo down. And I've also realized that what Gendzwill-sensei wrote was correct. They (sensei) do take note.

Basically the point I am trying to get across is not to let what other people are doing have an affect on your Kendo and certainly don't let it make you do something that is antithical to Kendo (tsuki someone with malicious intent). It'll all tell in the shiai-jo is my take on it.

Eventually you will have to deal with problems like these. The best way to solve them is with Kendo. Just practice and get better and better. If you have a problem with someone deal with it in Ji Geiko. If you think you are better, then show it in Ji Geiko. If you're not at that level to show that you're Kendo is better than just put up with it untill you're ready to take the challenge. If he really acts like an asshole than the Sensei, or whoever is in charge, should take note and tell the person in private not in front of everyone. Or the person in charge should show in Ji Geiko where he is wrong or lacking.
Use the anger in a positive way to improve and to keep cool.
Don't get mad just get even.

In my first dojo my sempai was a bully and a sneak. I would not give up or give in. After about two years I could beat him regularly and still can. His kendo has not changed at all in the last 15 years but mine has. (for the better I hope)

If he is an arrogant jerk, being beaten by a girl should really put his nose out of joint! It sounds like you turn up to training more oftn than him already, just keep at it and you will be tonnes better than him in no time!
