2 Kodachi questions
hello, ive been training in kodachi for 7 years now, my questions are .. 1. does anyone kno of a company or place that makes tsuba-less katana or kodachi,,, ? 2. a company that will make a sheathe for my kodachi similar to somone named shinomori aoshi from this cartoon i use to watch,, like both blades in the same sheathe and the second kodachi is drawn from the hilt , but i would liek both blades to have no tsuba, (less suspicion) http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/smile.gif thx alot for your time,

Oh God...not again.

you should probably ask your sensei or sempai about that. i don't know that many people on this forum would be familiar with kodachi related stuff, but i could be wrong.
p.s. why would you need to arouse "less suspicion"? |

you know what, i'm being mean. ignore my last post please.
i don't mean to rag on you but you are putting your head in the guillotine so to speak. people are going to rag on you hard with this post. you are very lucky that your sensei didn't just kick you out of his dojo for asking him that. usually it is thought of as very bad if a student is training solely for violent purposes. you are cheapening your training by having this mindset. and you are probably not on your sensei's good side right now. a better way to look at your training would be as a way of personal development through physical and mental discipline, instead of simply a tool for violence. this way you will reap(sp?) more valuable and lasting rewards from your years of hard work. good luck p.s. where are you training if you don't mind me asking? |

A tip though: your posts might get taken more seriously if you stop referring to cartoons and learn to use punctuation and spell properly. |
Mr. T. takes of all the gold.... Loads his 12 gage shotgun. Let the fun begin:

Your sensei obviously can recognize stupidity when he sees it. Here is a big fat red negative rep bomb for you.

May I suggest a GUN? You can get a nice 25 in a wallet holster and tote it anywhere and not worry about it.... If nothing else, when they take it away from you and whip you, it won't hurt as much. Calfskin is nice and soft...

BTW - you walk down the street in Portland sporting a sword and the cops are more likely than not to (at minimum) introduce you to their taser. |

Anyways, I'm not saying it's bad or trying to make fun; everyone should have a hobby. But as you've probably gathered, it's doubtful that you'll find much of an answer for you question here. It's a martial arts forum. The only way I can think of that you could possibly obtain a weapon like that is by having it custom made by someone, but that would be very, very expensive. And even if you were to have it made, it would be suspicious and get checked-out, and more than likely taken from you; good-bye thousands of dollars. No doubts there. Anyone in seemingly good health, that isn't at least middle-aged carrying around a "cane", is going to be viewed as suspicious. |
