Any idea if there is an English equivalent? I tried having the page translated to no avail.

Apologies to Mr Noh, I was being a bit cheeky. It just comes down to what you're used to. I'm sure there are lots of nice Korean soju, with a variety of flavours and styles. My trip to Seoul was dominated by the one, ubiquitous brand that gave nasty hangovers.

No worries. We do however agree on the nasty hangovers.

never had shochu.. but had plenty of soju.. and only when i'm sitting down with large number of koreans who like to drink till they drop.. and i keep telling myself, i'll never drink that crap ever again.. but always end up drinking it again.. hate that crap.

get'em a good bottle of respectable single malt. never seen a japanese who turned down a good bottle of single malt before, and you can find a nice one for under US$100

You see that's the great thing about imojochu. No hangovers. Nothing. Just a wee fuzziness that an hour of jigeiko easily and painlessly dispels.
