Something I have been wondering for some time. |

I normally have a breakfast of multi-grain cereal, maybe some orange juice, some coffee, and if I'm feeling especially hungry, some toast along with breakfast. Nothing greasy, heavy, or full of fat.
As for drinking, I usually drink water on the way to the dojo, since it's an hour's drive for me. Once there, I have a large thermal mug full of a sports drink and ice, which I can sip at during breaks in the action. If nothing else, it keeps the electrolyte level in my system where it needs to be, especially since afterwards, it's "second dojo" and the alcohol tends to leach them back out again. |

Most trainings I've not had anything to eat for 4-5hrs prior to keiko. (Most training is in the evening for us) If I'm really hungry, I might eat a cup of Shin Ramyun or muesli bar. I always drink water before practise. On Saturday morning, before keiko I eat a light breakfast of yoghurt, fruit and some cereal.
I do my best to eat and drink healthy during the week, weekends are usually a bit more relaxed. |

I almost always have a Vitamin Water. Sports drinks with electrolytes, not the "energy" drinks (most if not all of them are fueled by caffiene).
Many times, I'll try to have Indian food that day. It may be considered "heavy", but it works for me ![]() |

Thanks for the many responces.
I have noticed that it depends alot on what I eat towards how well I can perform during keiko. For example if I have a meal with potatoes, veggies and a meatball then I have the same effect as if i wouldn't have eaten. When I eat nasi goreng or some pasta dish then it's like I have more energy and I'm less tired but more hungry after practise. I usually have a bottle of water with me of 1.5l which I drink on my way home. We rarely drink during keiko at our dojo. |
