Default Travel Memories..
Hi everyone, Im finally back home - yay!! Its great to be able to train regularly again.

During my travel and work in the US and Canada over the last 4 months, there have been several times when I look up at the sky, and address whomever is in charge of the universe with a "what the hell???". Although most situations I got myself into were frustrating at the time, now they are just damn funny.

Lie the time I went through LA airport and was directed to 2 wrong terminals, the wrong flight, then found out I had the wrong tickets, then was only given one of the two I needed, then missed the connecting flight anyway. Not to mention the lost luggage...

Like the time I booked into a hostel over the internet, only to arrive in Vancouver and find I was staying in a place next to Hastings St, full of shifty illegal immigrants, druggies and broke Aussies.

Or the time I tried to cross the US border into Alaska to see Skagway, whereupon I was asked to prove that I had left the US previously. Surprisingly hard to do when they wont take the fact you are IN CANADA as proof...

Or the time I drove from Denver to Canon City and took a wrong turn on the interstate, hence taking 7 and a half hours to get there... it was a nice drive though!

There were the several nights of being kept awake in camp by the resident porcupine eating the floor of my tent, and the helicopter pilots getting pickled and singing hotel california late into the night (I preferred the porcupine).

Anyone else travel for work and have stupid stuff happen that you can giggle about later?

Oh, yes. Many. Too tired to relate them now. Maybe tomorrow.

A Kiwi friend of mine might call that phrase redundant.

hahaha! It was the wierdest place Ive ever stayed, thankfully it was only for a couple of days. The building was apparently several hundreds of years old, and had signs on the windows telling you not to climb out on to the roof or youd fall straight through it.

I thought it was an apt description of the Austrialian caste system.
