Maybe I'm strange but how difficult is it to jump rope?? Just grab the thing, wear sports shoes (or use a mat or thick carpet) and jump. One leg, both legs, with a little hop in between or one jump per rope round. Be creative. |

Do you have a jump rope or speed rope? There are many different types of jump ropes (weight, length, etc.) and this usually will help you come up with a routine. I started using a speed rope during the summer. It is actually harder than it looks. Jumping rope also builds good hand eye coordination not just endurance and stamina. So with practice it is easy for most boxers to develop an elaborate routine. I usually alternate feet doing about 50 jumps and maybe to take a break in between both feet big jumps (swinging the rope fast enough for two rotations before my feet touch). But always try to keep the rope and my feet moving even if I'm not jumping. Like I said I use a speed rope that is pretty light and the weight is distributed well among the rope. So it might not be pratical for you to do the same routine depending on your jump rope.
