I made six or seven tests in the last three years, just for the fun. I scored from 125 to 160. Those things are totally unreliable, inaccurate and meaningless.

Yep. Years ago my father was telling me that he took some sort of aptitude test which involved hand/eye coordination as well as "IQ".

He scored pretty darn high on the IQ portion but dismally low on the hand/eye coordination. The tester asked him what he did for a living, and my father replied. The tester could not believe that he had been a professional musician for the previous 25 years and had been playing classical guitar since age 13, teaching since age 18. He went on to pick up the flute, tin whistle, mandolin, and piccolo well into his 20's to 40's.

Just goes to show, I think.

Does your father close his eyes when he plays?

If you really believed that, would you have posted your score?

lol Yep, every now and again he will when he's feeling good. He has arthritis in his hands so I think he needs to pay more attention to finger placement when he's playing, rather than relying on muscle memory alone. Still sounds amazing.

Just for the record, I'm all thumbs

I think your IQ can change drastically given your circumstances... even just your mood / attention span on a partcular day.

You can also train for these types of IQ test.

Its fun to do these types of things and I think they are useful brain exercises, but I dont think they can really tell you anything....

137, interesting... not done one in a while so would've thought I'd get lower than that.

I'm told that most IQ tests do not contain enough hard questions and so do not mean much when you get a number over 130. So basically it's just a bit of fun
