Top ten material! I'd buy it...

Having had my own share of assaholic moments (with more to come, I'm sure), what's the big deal. He had a lot of pent up energy from being in a scene, some dude f-ed it up (apparently for a second time), and he got overly pissed, and emoted too much. Can't see how it's that big of a deal, though admittedly I'm not really a fan of the guy anyway.

I think the media is makin' a big deal out of it without knowing the full details:the before the rant & after.
Some people goad people into going off & then try to play the victim. That Photo dude was a complete jerk & has a
reputation of pissing actors & directors off. they should blacklist him.

Also its a work situation there is no excuse ever for talking to a colleague in that way. The guy is talented so sadly he gets away with it....

Yes, there is absolutely no call to talk to any colleague that way. If that were a 'proper' workplace Mr Bale would have been suspended peniding the outcome of a formal investigation. And probably had at least a Final Warning and maybe even dismissal. Because he is bigshot Hollyweird star, he will, of course, get away with it.
Even if the chap was trying to wind him up, Mr Bale should have been a lot more professional about it than coming out with stuff like "i'm going to kick your F****ng arse" He made himself look like a petulant brat - but maybe that is his true colours shining through?

Disagree about the talent. Thought his version of Batman was dire - no depth of character at all. of course he can only work with the lines, direction etc he is given but it still lacked charm of any sort.
But this is only my opinion and others will like his style.
(and I prefer Moore to Connery so what do I know)

I am not a fan but he was wonderful in the Machinist, but I do agree he is charmless in Batman, and I think in real life. He sounds in that audio like a premenstrual teenage girl.

I also think it was very bad taste to record somone & then release it on the net without their permission.
you can tell the audio was clipped. we don't know how many times the DoP interfered, which I have read multiple times in various films with vrious people. One article I read said the that DoP, samul(whatever his name is) is as equally beligerent to his staff.

For what this is worth, I am an actor and can completely understand how irritating it is when you are trying perform an intense emotional scene and someone completely ruins the moment that you've built up by being a dumbass.
That being said, he has two things against him right now-
1) It's Terminator 4. Arnold's not even in it and nobody is going to a Terminator movie for the acting quality.
2) Given what's happened with him and his family, and this now too...I think he's on cocaine.

By the rest of us not giving a shit we are reinforcing these peoples idea that it is okay to behave like this. It usually doesn't take long for someone to show themselves as a complete arse (and the acting profession has more than its fair share) but we shouldn't tolerate it.

The bit that said it all about Bale is the last bit on the tape which suggested that he also hits his family (but charges were dropped).

What a fine upstanding citizen. I wonder how long he would maintain this attitude in a prison. Might not be too long before we find out.

Further to my last here is true tale of an American tourist who was unhappy with his Hire Car.

I was in the Hire Car offiice in Palma Airport, Mallorca - just returning the keys to my hire car when this rather large american male stormed in through the door. He was white, weighed about 15 stones, about 6'4" beard, largish beer belly and followed by another white male who was much quieter. Ignoring the queue of two other people he barged (physically) through them and tried to shove me out the way as he sought to berate loudly the young female assistant. He was harrangueing her when I shoved him back. I told him to shut up and get to the back of the queue.

He regained his balance and looked as though he was going to have a pop at me when I told him if he tried I would kick his arse from pillar to post. He then tried to ignore me and continue shouting at the Spanish assistant. She tried to calm him down but he was determined to stay angry, so she ignored him totally and continued to finish my paperwork. She was clearly 'rattled' by his aggression.

He paced back and forwards in the small office continuing to vent about how 'shit' everything is in Spain and the service is appaling, the people are rude (i kid you not that he said this). When I finished he tried to push back to the front again and he pushed him back and told him if he didn't coold off a bit he would have to face the Spanish police and he really wouldn't relish the conversation they would have with him. He stared at me wildly as if to try and freak me out with his 'wildman' look. I nearly laughed but held it together.

I turend to the assistant and advised her to call for Airport Police just in case he didn't calm down and she did. Now you would have thought that would have been enough to calm his anger but no. This guy continued shouting at the to of his voice. Apoplexy and then some. The police arrived and dragged the idiot out of the Office. At one point I thought he was going to have a go at them but eventually he calmed down and avoided a good baton-ing.

And what had provoked such fury?

The hire firm had given him a car that had been used by a smoker and he wanted a non-smoking one (you had to choose back then). Unfortunately he had not requested this and there were none left. What a guy.


I tell you what. It took me quite a while to stop shaking - I really thought he was going to fight and he was a big guy. I would have bounced somewhere near Madrid.

Giving a shit or not is about as likely to change the attitude of this sort of primadonna as anger therapy suggestions. Short of a full scale boycott of the offending fools films (people are still watching Mel Gibson films...) nothing is ever going to change these people.

And anyway, a quick press release (or in this case, a "heartfelt" phone in to a radio show) to apologies and it's all suddenly water under the bridge, and the public goes to the cinema.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not tolerating or condoning it, but I'm totally past caring about what people in that industry do but the nature of it and the people in it will never change because by it's very nature it is creating a seperate environment where selected pampered individuals get their way. Good look changing that with your indignation. Just gimme my dose of action. That will continue regardless of weather or not the guy on the screen is a prick or not, which they invariably will be. That or they'll end up like Bono.
