Probably redundant to post but I did search this website and came up empty handed. I need to know what is the calling card to call to Thailand (mostly outside of BKK) FROM US (Arizona). So far a friend of mine has told me about this one and it seemed so-so:
http://www.tollthai.com/usa/products/default.asp I haven't tried it yet and what I used now is the standard supermarket brand ($5 for 40min.) I pretty much call mobiles and seldom house phones by the way. Please help... also, what exactly is a surcharge and when does it apply. ie 20%minutes surcharge. Thanks |

Thanks to the both of you but I have to know how's the connection? Does it drop often and so forth? I think I would go for the tollthai because there's no weekly charges. I also found this site http://speedypin.com/ and its for an unbelievable 1.6 cents a minute (~320 minutes for $5) So I bought it and they were right about the minutes but I couldn't get a connection. The pin# was given right when I ordered it via email and tried calling last night, around 1AM my time 3pm THai, and it didn't even rang or a dialtone. I called again today and I got a busy signal. I trust that it was busy though. So if anyone got anymore out there, let's here about it. Thanks again for the info

A lot of cards will kill you with the surcharges, 3 minute rounding, maintenance fees, etc. The best card I could find is the Mega Clean and Stable card from www.uniontelecard.com. You can buy it online and get your pin number via e-mail. It has a lot of features such as pinless dialing, too. In your area, they only have a local access number for Phoenix unfortunately. Hopefully it will work for you.
They have other cards but you have to look at all of the surcharges. I have never had calling issues with this card. The network for the cell phones I call can be down sometimes though, but it's not the card's fault. |

We have never had a problem with tollthai, and the card can be recharged over the internet. The connection is almost always good (sometimes during thunderstorms there are problems). I have also used uniontelecard, in fact I still get spam emails from them almost weekly. They are good, but more expensive than tollthai. There is, however, not much difference in quality between the two. IMO

I really do not know what it cost from the states to Thailand on the service I use, but I think about 4 baht a minute,[8 cents us] but I am in Thailand and to call to the states is 2 cents a minute, but I use it to call all over the world using my PC to phone, you might check it out, www.iconnecthere.com and I also use SKYPE out and it is not to spendy..
