New Year resolutions for 2009

I think it's about time for this.

This year:

Learn kodachi kata
Pass promotion exam
Suburi at least 5 times a week
Improve footwork
Keiko 2-3 times a week
Start iaido

Brareevor 12-30-2008 10:13 AM

uuhhh.. my resolutions are to make it to 2010, practice kendo, go to hockey games, drink beer (and tequila), have fun, continue to support the fam. Those are hopefully all do-able.

RayFairhurst 12-30-2008 01:21 PM

I hereby resolve to:

1. Get past 2009 relatively unscathed.

2. Party with Kenzan-san like it's 1999.

3. Get laid by a beautiful kendoka with big wabba-wabbas, without my wife finding out.

4. Get better in my Kendo...physically and spiritually.

5. Do more daily exercising to increase stamina.

6. Eat better.

7. Make sure I tell my wife "I love you" at least 2x a day.

8. Work my a** off daily.

9. Be nice to all folks, including the bloody damn a**holes.

10. Not to do #2 & #3. Sorry, Kenzan-san... I just couldn't. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/frown.gif

- Practice even harder for the next kyu exam.
- Apply for another internship. Hopefully get this one this time around.
- Do a little more programming on the side so I can get more practice.
- Fix my sleep schedule.
- Finally get around to getting some new shelves. It would really help make some more space for my knick knacks
- Find love ;_; What IS love, anyways?

I've decided to make some resolutions I can actually keep this year

1. I want to gain weight -- at least 30 pounds.
2. Stop exercising. Waste of time.
3. Read less.
4. Watch more TV. I've been missing some good stuff.
5. Procrastinate more.
6. Drink. Drink some more.
7. Take up a new habit -- maybe smoking.
8. Spend more time at work.
9. Stop bringing lunch from home -- I should eat out more.
10. Start being superstitious

1). Figure out how to do correct fumikomi
2). Figure out how to cut with correct tenouchi
3). Become rich

Poothevokprot 12-31-2008 12:45 AM

General fitness has always been my main obstacle (other than the fact that me kendo is awful!!!), so basically work my a*** off and get as fit as possible.
As for my Kendo my goal is to improve overall as always with particular focus on my Seme and Tenouchi.

CreativeAcrobate 12-31-2008 06:58 AM

Why, does the Petrol Station charge for restroom usage in Jolly Olde England?

Today, my Sensei got us all together and talked to us about how we have all progressed a lot and that it made him very happy. Even though everytime he is motodachi and gets hit on the kote/men; it hurts, but it hurts him even more when one of us quit. So my long term resolution is never to quit Kendo.
My mid-term resolution is to have good footwork. And my short term resolution is to work my hardest at every training sessions.

Why, does the Petrol Station charge for restroom usage in Jolly Olde England? Why do you need to take a rest at a petrol station? Gosh the US&A is truly advanced when they allow customers to have a little lie down after 4 minutes strenuous exertionhttp://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...es/biggrin.gif

I'm glad you agree. I can't possibly handle more wabba-wabba's than I currently have. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/laugh.gif
