Random, pointless thread... with a poll

lol, so I'm bored and therefore going to create this poll.

The poll is:

When do you go to class during the week? Check all that apply.

MichaelfromSpace 11-16-2009 11:12 PM

Wow what gives with the popularity of Thirs. & Sunday?????

Man I want to make a poll someday http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/smile.gif

When work doesn't prevent me (which is unfortunately rare):

Sun: kendo
Mon: kendo
Tue: iaido
Wed: iaido
Thu: kendo
Fri: kendo
Sat: iaido

On some Saturdays and Sundays I do both kendo and iaido.

there is not the option for ''kendo abstinence... i'm going to kill myself'' http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...es/biggrin.gif

You left one option out... waiting for noobclass to start... 1 month, 3 months, 6 months...sigh... 9 months... Iaido class though, not Kendo...so totally off the poll anyway...

Oh if only my schedule allowed for this much practice. On the one hand am quite jealous but on the other, I'm pretty sure if I tried this kind of schedule I'd be a walking zombie at work. Not a good thing since I work in a fast-paced biotech lab.

If it makes you feel better, for the past month I haven't been able to keep to this schedule at all. I've been working every weekend and most evenings, and I've only been able to get to the dojo a few times. Hopefully I'll be able to get back to that schedule by the end of the year though.

It does help that one of my dojo is at my workplace and another two are within walking distance (I do regular practice at five dojo).

http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...milies/eek.gif Ok, now I'm extremely jealous! If only I could get biotech people interested enough to form a company club. Oh the perks of living in Japan. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...sappointed.gif

You pay dues at five dojo?

mralabama 11-17-2009 12:35 PM

More than three night a week for me and the missus would not be best pleased. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/rambo.gif

No, just two. The others let me practise for free for various reasons.

That's a sweet deal. My wife would gut me if I was paying dues at five places.

I love praticing on saturdays, it gives a kind of zen feeling. I get up late (around 8), have some green tea, if it's warm outside I'll sand and reassemble my shinai in the garden, put on some shakuhachi music and slowly eat some fueling breakfast and then I drive to Kendo.

It's a complete contrast to practicing on weeknights, rushing home from work, having 10 minutes to stuff myself with something edible and then rush off again to Kendo, with a full stomach and 10 hours of computer work behind me.

Saturday is the most popular training day for a reason, ne?

... not to forget that all the haflings soccer hooligans otherwise occupying the halls are at home. Or having outdoor training. Or on tournament somewhere faaaar away. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...es/biggrin.gif
