My second day of being snowed in means that my tate hiza has improved greatly and my house is very clean.

Anyone else using this time productively?

When I were a lad, we didn't let a little snow flurry get in our way of going to work! Pah! Anyone would think we Brits aren't prepared to handle snow.....

The 'snow' you've got down in London is slightly less significant than the frost inside most people's frost-free freezers. In Yo'kshire we've got snow drifts, big as 'ouses un remember, we don't have poncy shoes, central heating and leccy to keep us warm-we got coal, dug out t' ground wit' bare hands by honest men, tin baths in front o' fire and buxom red-cheeked women-folk doing t' washing and coooking.

Anyway, nuff o' this ....wheerz me copy o' that there Hagakure...?

I have a question - I often listen to BBC 1 in the morning via satellite. When they give the weather, there's never any temperature prediction or for that matter any current temperature. Yesterday they just said "bitterly cold". In the summer they were saying "fair". What use is that? Do British meteorologists not own thermometers?

We're all having to 'tighten our belts' due to the financial black hole we're in! Thermometers are an extravagance we can all do without; especially when our super accurate weathermen/girls can tell so much about the weather mealy by looking at an old comb!

The temperatures are clearly marked on the map that's on screen. They assume that people are watching than just listening I assume. Anyway, they're usually wrong by 12 hours in my experience. I used to video weather reports and view them the next day to prove to my other half that they were generally inaccurate with regards timings.

Anyone that has met Anil can believe this....

Only in Canada, everwhere else gets to see the magical moving pictures as well.

BBC Radio 1 is designed for people who cant read the numbers on a thermometer.
They invented BBC Radio 2 for Brits with more than half a brain to listen to, Ive heard them use numbers and stuff on there so it might be worth you checking it out. Plus the fact its far more "British"

I don't think we get radio 2 via Sirius satellite radio. We get BBC world news and radio 1. I guess I've only got a half a brain, because I enjoy Chris Moyles.
