Default Kevin Love tired of waiting for Wolves to get good.
Kevin Love tired of waiting for Timberwolves to get good

AP Teams rarely become good overnight in the NBA. They build it up over time — think of the Thunder model, who took steps forward every season the past three years. What Miami did is the aberration.
Minnesota could be one of those teams on the rise, but Kevin Love wants management to speed up the process.
Love is in Las Vegas for Team USA camp and being around guys like that — many of them teammates — has Love frustrated, he told Marc Spears of Yahoo Sports.
“My patience is not high,” Love said. “Would yours be, especially when I’m a big proponent of greatness surrounding itself with greatness? All these [Team USA] guys seem to have great players around them.
“It’s tough seeing all these guys that are young and older who have all played in the playoffs. When they start talking about that, I have nothing to talk about. If I don’t make the playoffs next year I don’t know what will happen.”Nothing. That’s what will happen.
Next season you start your first deal after your rookie and you’ll make $12.9 million and $62 million total over the next four. Now, you can opt out after season three and you did that to keep pressure on Minnesota management — a smart move — but basing what you will do in three years off what happens next season is foolish.
And you should be on an improved team next year. Ricky Rubio will return from his knee injury (at some point) and you’ll have a star young point guard again. Chase Budinger provides some athleticism. Management added Brandon Roy, which has some upside. Derrick Williams should improve.
And you should be a borderline playoff team under Rick Adelman. If Love wants to make sure Minnesota makes the playoffs, he should spend this offseason improving his defense.
But speaking out now and again to keep pressure on management? Good strategy.

Here's a question, why'd you sign that deal then? Cause if youre tired of waiting, prepare to wait some more..

Dumbass...

Actually, by signing a shorter deal with Minnesota rather than signing a big offer sheet with another team that Minnesota will match, he'll hit free agency faster.

Restricted free agents worth a damn rarely switch teams. Ryan Anderson may end up being the exception to prove the rule.

Just saying he's in his prime, I understand he can opt out in 3 years (Which he will) and go elsewhere but seriously dude if you wanna win, leave! Cause Minnesota aint going anywhere anytime soon. He's basically just there, putting up sick numbers only to watch the Playoffs from home. Derrick Williams had an OK Rookie season, hopefully he contributes more next year. Roy is a huge question mark but they didnt overpay, if his knees hold up thats a good signing, IF.. But looking at the rest of the roster, its ehh.. They dont even use JJ Barea the way the should, Mavs should of kept him.

Its just a blah roster and really offers no competition to the Western powerhouses. My guess is Love will be a laker down the road.

He's only 23. In three years he'll still be in his prime when he can leave.

They were a healthy rubio and a SG away from the playoffs last year.

My point was that he couldn't leave...The Wolves would have matched any offer. Much like Gordon and the Suns. He can say how he really wants to play there and all, but by signing a max years offer sheet with them, he's really agreeing to play those seasons with the Hornets.

Minnesota has a better roster than you give them credit for, though. Pekovic is a nice banger in the middle, a good complement to Love's style of play, and Rubio is a great sidekick for Love. Williams, well, he doesn't really have a position...probably best off backing up Love or playing PF if they go small. What they really need is a gunner on the outside for Rubio to dish to when Love is covered.

Regardless, they have the best coach in the NBA, so they can overcome most talent issues. An actual offseason in the system will help greatly. If Wes Johnson could become even league average, this team would be scary.

I wonder what the Lakers will look like in 3 years if Love wants to go there...Kobe on his last legs, if there at all. Nash should be about done. Gasol as well. Bynum might be there, if he re-ups before next season. But it's not like they'll be racking up lottery talent the next couple of years to restock with...

Well hey, if you wanna pop rainbows in his ass and tell him that go ahead..

I think he's wasting his time.

Great coach with experience and alot of wins but the guy is the Marv Levy of the NBA... You want a good team, he's your guy. He's also the guy thats leads the way to a first round exit. History doesnt lie.. 7 First round exits, 4 conf. final exits, 2 conf final exits and 2 finals losses..

Ill pass and go with a fresher approach..

Possibly. Or he could work to build a winner here if he's really that good.

There are only two reasons he doesn't have multiple championships.
Micheal Jordan and Tim Donaghy.

As a bulls fan I understand but out of all the Titles we won, I found those series the most difficult. Not sure I understand the Donaghy part though.

The Kings/Lakers series is the one he admitted to fixing.

Which might explain why Mike Bibby got called for a foul for having his face get in the way of Kobe's fist, allowing Kobe to win a game at the line.
