if you switch between the finals and a good movie, the finals become more watchable. 2 minutes of basketball, 10 minutes of collateral, 3 more minutes of basketball. that is the way to do it.
You're absolutely right!!! The NBA Finals has become what the rest of us flip to during a commercial break.

If that doesn't scare hell out of David Stern and the rest of the Association, nothing will. But according to Stern, interest in the NBA, from China to South America, is sky-rocketing!!!

I did watch the game tonight, and it was one of the worst playoff games I've seen. The refs were calling it ridiculously tight (especially in the first half), so neither team was able to get into a rythmn. It seemed they had to stop every other time down the court because of a foul call.
I think this is the reason why the game sucked so much. If you have your best players on the bench you cant expect a great game.

in all honesty, i am not suprised that you like to watch dancing.
And, in all honesty, did I ever post that I watched it? I just was stating a fact that was in last week's Nielson ratings.

Obviously, the word assume, namely the first syllable, applies to you, in this case.

Refereeing had a lot to do with the outcome of the game. Can you imagine those refs calling the Bill Laimbeer Pistons/Larry Bird Celtics finals? Laimbeer and Parrish banging hard in the low post? Never would have happened. That was great basketball combat. Piston/Bulls? The Magic and Kareem Lakers against those same Celtics, against the Isaiah Thomas/John Salley Pistons? Each one of those matchups were very physical series. These refs would have killed some great bball. And they squashed the Pistons from playing that physical game. Rasheed had to tone it down due to foul trouble.

Sour grapes?
Maybe.

Is it any wonder, that on the same network, a "reality" show about dancing, of all things, is more watchable?!?!

81-74?!?!

This is the score for the deciding Game 7. Anybody who argues with me that last night's game was watchable, had better come prepared. And by watchable I mean to the average fan.

Is it any wonder, that on the same network, a "reality" show about dancing, of all things, is more watchable?!?!

The NBA is well on its way to being so much like the WNBA that the only thing that will differentiate the two is gender.

Sports equality in reverse?!?!

Thanks, NBA, for making your league as irrelevant as the NHL and as abhorrant to watch as the WNBA . . . like anyone does.

The final score of the oh-so exciting NCAA tournament championship game.

75-70.

I don't know about you guys, but I was riveted.

Okay, I just cannot f*cking take it any longer. When neither team in the 7th game of the championship series is able to score 40 points, the NBA has some real problems. I have not seen 1 minute of this game, nor do I intend to.

I don't give a rat's ass if both teams are solid defensive units, either. 40 points for either team in a half in the showcase event for the league isn't possible?!?!?

Aside from the obvious people, Who'd want to watch this?!?!?! I'm sorry, but except for the pure athleticism of some of the league's players, the NBA is beginning to resemble the WNBA!!!

Poor shooting and low scoring. Yeah, that is really going to bring in more fans to the NBA. And before the Piston faithful (and I am quite sure some will), smack back at me and say this is "D-e-t-r-o-i-t B-a-s-k-e-t-b-a-l-l", all I have to ask is this:

Would YOU watch this kind of display if your team wasn't playing? I am as big of a sports fan as there is, but this display that the Association is rolling out as its premier event, is just wretched.

don't lie, we know you watched it. in fact, i bet you and your boyfriend go ballroom dancing every thursday night at the local YMCA. follow that up by sharing a large Vanilla Shake from Dairy Queen. (2 straws) End the night by watching OC re-runs as you drift off asleep on his shoulder.
