No self.

What does it mean: having no self (anatta)?

One of the first stumbling blocks that Westerners often encounter when they learn about Buddhism is the teaching on anatta, often translated as no-self. Read here: "the answer":

No-self or Not-self?", by Thanissaro Bhikkhu. Access to Insight, June 5, 2010, http://www.accesstoinsight.org/lib/a...notself2.html.

Hi Jan,

This forum is meant for beginners to ask general questions about Buddhism, or to reflect on their own practice,

There's also an existing thread about anatta already right here in this forum.... "Questions about anatta and causes " which was started by Plogsties and can be added to if required.
