Theater of The Mind

My past is a collection of my thoughts of how my mind interpreted events that my mind thought at the time were important to itself.

My future is an imaginary state generated in the present by my memorized experiences that my mind thought at the time were important to itself.

My mental life kept replicating itself over and over and over again because of its inherited sense of self importance.

It all started out as a rehearsal for a play and I got the parts I created in other actor's lives and after uncountable performances I grew weary of all the repetitious acting and so I moved on to writing, directing, producing, and acting in my own plays.

While putting on a performance as a Zen Buddhist I rehearsed a few lines and came to the part where I had to practice sitting still in the middle of the stage and a very odd thing happened. I became acutely aware of the spotlight in the theater that I spent all of my life in and thought was focused on me. It wasn't a spotlight at all but an OPENING in the theater of my mind AWARENESS dissolves the acting and leaves the theater for "parts" unknown to actors. In the present light of day there are no parts, no actors—just karma playing with itself.

Hi Pugdala2,

As Beyond Belief is a debating forum,I'm wondering what it is exactly that you want to debate with other members in connection with the thoughts in your above post ? http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...s/dontknow.gif

An open (empty) mind contains no sentient beings to debate—it is beyond belief.

I see an "open" mind as being quite distinct from an "empty" mind. How would you distinguish the two?

Empty and open become synonymous indicators of awakening mind. How these words are used in language (see Language is Tongue Tied*) is a function of the intellect and subject to error by the ego constantly jumping to emotional conclusions—closing the mind.

Sitting still in zazen, mind impartially observes the sentient impostor identities that it had acquired in ignorance. Mind transcends the identification which empowers these insidious mental creations de-animating the Frankenstein ego and Mind flowers out of itself.

Aloka-D pointed out that Beyond Belief is a debating forum and (see) Zen* has no interest in debate so this is my last posting here.
