Ajahn Sujato resigns
Hi all,
I just thought I'd mention that Ajahn Sujato is resigning from his post of abbot at Santi monastery in Australia. He has written about it in his blog http://sujato.wordpress.com/2012/05/22/an-announcement/ |
Hi Aloka and thanks for the info, Tom

sounds like Santi Forest Monastery may become a bhikkhuni monastery. before the property became 'Santi Forest Monastery', it was a dhamma centre for women, owned by the now Bhikkhuni Nirodha
I would love Santi to remain as a residence for bhikkhunis. It has always been my intention that the building work we have done here will, in the long term, be for the bhikkhunis. I have been open to the idea that there may be a continuing presence of monks here, but this has been very much secondary. Santi Forest Monastery is one of the few English-speaking monasteries in the world where women can be ordained and trained as a bhikkhuni. The community at Santi is a mixed one, where the male and female residents have separate facilities and dwelling areas, but come together for meals, teachings and work. **** |

hi Esho
i sense it is good news. as for Bhikkhu Sujato, i sense he may turn to something more pure, such as wandering (which is the bhikkhu life according to sutta & vinaya) kind regards http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ilies/grin.gif |

Hi all,
There's also an announcement about his resignation on Santi Forest Monastery website where I presume there will be future updates about the bhikkhunis there. http://santifm.org/santi/ kind regards Aloka http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/hands.gif |
