Metaphysics / Abhidhamma VS Life Improvement
Dear All,
As defined in the dictionary, ''metaphysics'' is the part of philosophy that is concerned with trying to understand and describe the nature of truth, life, and reality. So, let me ask you how the metaphysics / Abhidhamma can improve our life? This question is actually not mine, but of a business-minded friend (MBA Graduate) of mine who asked me recently following our discussion of Buddhism and reasons to believe. Yours in Dhamma, Roath |
Hi Roath,
I noticed that you are posting the same topics you've posted here in other internet groups too. I was wondering if you are researching for a college essay perhaps ? Could you please just choose one of our forums for each of the topics, please. Kind regards, http://www.buddhismwithoutboundaries...lies/hands.gif Aloka-D |
I actually responded to these questions on another board first, then came here to see them as well. Thus, I will make one further notation, which is: the questions are coming from a place of analysis.
Instead, try asking whether you (or anyone who asks, really) find life particularly unsatisfactory in the quiet moments when you're alone and nothing is going on to distract you. The Dhamma is wholly concerned with explaining why such dukkha is experienced, and how to cause it to stop. |

Metaphysics is about, in its classic conception, the knowlege of somithing essencial in all things, in a way that essenciality do not change and this is against the deep knowledge developed by the Buddhist understanding of life facts.
Abhidharma is a sophistacated teatrise about how mind works form the Buddhist point of view that has been supported by physiological and phycological academics. Neither of them can imporve your life... your life will be improved if you realize and awake about your suffering with the aid and understanding of the Four Noble Truths.
