Thanks Aloka-D. Bhante Vimalaramsi is one of my favourite teachers. Just reading his commentary is sublime.
I loved the following:
"This really is the Western Disease, this analysing, this trying to figure out how everything works; too bad it doesn't do anything for you." (from U Pandita) And
But the only way I can really understand something, is if I think about it." Not true. You understand by direct experience. A very extensive sutta detailing a wide variety of ways in which we can release and 'see'.

I think this sutta, the Venerable Sariputta showed many sample of 'right views' but only one is enough to go to "the end of suffering". I think this is because, if we understand one thing then we will understand everything.

What views are the right views ?
If something arise to the mind and we observe :-
1. That thing,
2. The origin of that,
3. The cessation of that,
4. The way leading to the cessation of that.
Then we are in the right view.

For my opinion, to observe above, the mind will understand the Tilakkhana which leading the mind to be unclinged.

Well said sukitlek,
The largest problem English users will have with this sutta is the word "view".

A view, for 99.9% of us is an opinion or a philosophy.

The word does not suggest a direct experience and that's the problem.

As you say, it is these things as they appear to the mind, their arising and dissolving and arising again which gives insight (view) into the process of becoming.

Correct seeing or insight would perhaps be better words, as they suggest a direct experience, rather than an intellectually held opinion.

Not only English users, Thai users also understand word "Ditthi" is opinion. (We use pali word for the name of dhamma.) Then we have the same largest problem.

So, to study Sutta is so important to understand what the Buddha teaching. The same words for 2500 years ago may different meaning with the present.

The Right view or "Samma Ditthi" is the first one in Eightfold Noble Path. Then this is the tool, not the result.
