Connection between sankhara and awareness
 

A gray area for me personally needs to do with the connection between sankhara (structures) and consciousness. It'd appear to me that consciousness must occur just before mental/volitional/kammic structures, and not the other way around -- and so the sequencing isn't just suitable for a model.Dependent on the eye & types there arises consciousness at the eye. The assembly of the three is contact. Determined by the hearing & sounds... Determined by the nose & aromas... Determined by the language & flavors...
