Default 2006 Ford focus Sedan
History: Bought new. Never have had start up problems until today; although, it sometimes won't let go of the ignition key (but still starts and rives with it 'held/stuck').

Was handling normal today, no problems, no surge in power. Went out for dinner, turned off lights and power... keys were out. Car was locked, came back an hour later. Put keys in, engine turned roughly, got lights turned half way on and .... dead. Took keys out, tried to start it again.... heard a soft 'click click click', and nothing...

Had road side come out, they were unable to jump the car.

Car is currently being towed to the condo. I've called my mom and step-dad, who both suspect the battery or alternator.

Is it worth spending the money to fix this? We were going to trade it in for a new car, we owe two more years roughly on it. They were going to take 4500$ off on a new car for it... would they still take it as is now??? They can fix it for nearly nothing right?

Oh yes and....
