Does that mean if in the unlikely event they won a race they'd play the Russian national anthem I wonder? I remember Red Bull getting a telling off for laying the British anthem after their first win much to the money providers disgust lol.

It wasn't the team but the race organisers which made the mistake IIRC.

Arguably Virgin Racing has been racing under Russian flag already this season after Marussia bought into the team. And as we remember, MF1 in 2006 had also Russian licence.

Good points. I remember the race organisers got the telling off now you come to mention it. I'm sure the team appreciated it though.

This can only be good for all motorsport commentators out there - no more clarifying which Lotus you're talking about, but on the other hand no more puns on the name Virgin.

That Lotus mess was stupid to begin with, good that there aren't 2 teams trying to use the same name anymore.
