She has her own thread in the Indy Car forum.
She will never race in F1.
And there have been several women in F1 and there are several up and comers in IC or Indy Lites.

R.I.P. Sparky Anderson.

He'd want to be part of this important thread too.

I just realized that you are not kidding about Sparky

Let's just change this to the Sparky Anderson thread.

When I was a wee lad in San Diego in the 1960's. The Pacific Coast (Minor League) Padres played at Westgate Park.
For a few years they were the farm team for The Cincinnati Reds. I remember watching some of the player that were part of the Big Red Machine. Tony Perez, Chico Ruiz, and Tommy Helms come to mind, and others whose names escape me now. I also played, with and advised the shortstop from the '84 Detroit Tigers That Sparky won the whole shooting match with.
He was one of the really good guys.
RIP Sparky

Amen, Sparky was a great manager and I'm glad my comment wasn't taken as being insensitive to his passing.

Lemme see, the name Bernie Carbo comes to mind...perhaps Hal McBride too? That was about the era of your PC league roster.

'84 Tigers was Trammel at short, or was that before his time?

In the Pacific Coast League, she'd make a good ball girl.

No Allan and I grew up in the same hood. Very few people know that he was a bigger star in Basketball (all county first team point guard) at Kearney High then he was in Baseball. He is a few years younger than me.
At any rate I don't recall if Carbo played in the PCL or McBride. It was back in the days when "Gentleman aka Diamond Jim Gentile" was still kicking around the minors.
I got a foul ball off the bat of Cesar Tovar.
Does that name take you home in an AL kind of way?

I remember Tovar's name, but was a big NL fan at the time.

The strange intersection is the guy I buy parts from in Kalamazoo grew up with Jeter. I think my only friend sells plumbing supplies.

This video contains content from Vevo, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds. Should I consider myself lucky?
