Default Ane Brun
I've seen the name float around, but never thought to check her out until tonight, when I was searching for Nina Kinert stuff (with whom Ane duets on her live album and who deserves a thread of her own). Anyway, this is why when I see a name floating around, I should just listen immediately and judge, because I've clearly wasted years not listening to her! I've spent the evening listening and I definitely have a new musical crush. I currently have The Treehouse Song on repeat

OMFG I love Ane Brun! She was singing backing vocals when I saw Peter Gabriel at the O2 and did a couple of solo songs at the start. I bought one of her CDs there and then and have since got a couple more. You need to get Live at the Stockholm Concert Hall and Sketches. They are both staggeringly beautiful.

^ Oh God I know, right? I posted that a while back in the Albums You Should Own thread. Their duet on Ane's live CD is amazing too. What great voices together.

I adore her! I discovered her on the Polar Music Prize Ceremony singing "Joga". Probably the best Bjork cover I've ever heard, she made it her own. Just great

Argh, the new single is out, but not in the US Was hoping it would be on YouTube, but no luck (although the teaser clips are fantastic but all-too-short).

Arrrrrgggh this still hasn't seen the light in the US, nor has the b-side "One Last Try". It's all over UK/European iTunes. Bummer, but the clips will have to tide me over for now. Both songs actually sound awesome.

It's really a fantastic song. Her other stuff isn't always quite as percussion-filled, but try Treehouse Song and Balloon Ranger.

It's a really beautiful album. Not much similar to 'Do You Remember', but that was an excellent first single choice. Should be going to the UK premiere of the accompanying film next month. Cannot wait.

Cool. Looking forward receiving my copy. I'm booked to see her show at Scala at the end of the year.

I love Wears the Trousers by the way.

Thank you Have you heard the song she recorded for us?

I'll be at the Scala show too. It's been too, too long since she played a show of her own here.
