I just received the following e-mail from KateBush.com.
Dear Ryan, We are very pleased to announce the opening of the official Katebush.com web shop. The shop, which is part of Katebush.com, is open today! Kate has carefully selected a range of items specifically for her fans. Over the coming months we will be adding a full range of special products to the store. To open the store, we are pleased to announce the availability of a range of exclusive wall art. These canvases are taken from the artwork of Director's Cut and are only available from Katebush.com. (I didn't copy all the pictures, but click here to see all the canvases.) Each print is available with or without the inscription used in the album artwork. All the canvases can be hung directly on a wall without the addition of an extra frame. To ensure the highest quality they are printed on 360gsm matt art canvas, which is a 100% cotton, acid free canvas base, with a high white point and a traditional texture. Each canvas is printed using Canon's 12-colour LUCIA pigment ink system with a lightfast life of over 85 years. The price includes robust packaging to ensure complete protection of your artwork and the price also covers shipping via courier in the UK. We are able to process orders from anywhere in the world, but extra shipping costs will apply to customers from outside the UK. Customers outside of the UK will be contacted to discuss the best shipping options and additional costs for their shipment. To start using the shop you must first register with Katebush.com, which you can do by clicking here. We will be adding new products, including exclusive lithographs, clothing and downloads over the coming weeks. We hope you enjoy our new shop. Lots of love, The Fish People. I really love the idea of the wall art. |

Has anyone contacted them to see the shipping prices to the United States? I would love some Aerial wall art, actually.
I also feel like they might have missed the mark on most of the lyric captions. Many of those songs have some VERY poignant lines, but they chose to add things like "And you huh? You do huh?" |

I would love to see the sales statistics on some of these items, lol. Who bought the Moments of Pleasure print? What kind of person are they? What is their life like? Where did they hang it?! |

I think we're all jumping to conclusions here. Massively. She may not even have anything at all to do with the pricing on her merchandise - and even if she does it's not it's an essential item for her casual music listeners. She probably appreciates they are specialist collectors items, and if they're not producing many of them that might be why they're highly priced. I'm sure in the past 3 years she's watched the news; she knows about the economy.

She's trying to appeal to the specialist collectors for sure, spyk. If the shop sold mugs and mousepads, she'd make much more money. They'd fly out the door. I think she definitely has something to do with the pricing though. I just wish she'd give some thought to the fans who can't afford stuff like that. Posters at Homeground and the offical FB page are airing their views about the expense though so maybe there'll be some response from Kate's camp.

I agree, but you know someone will buy that shit. Never underestimate the power of fandom to make people make really stupid financial choices. I mean, when people are spending $500 on two tickets to see Fori Amos in 2011 .... |
