It was Making Lemonade 101 -- Claim the problem is overstated, claim it's the best product ever, offer everyone a free case, and offer refunds to people who are pissed.

I've never knowingly paid for an Apple product. Matter of principle. It's the only company I boycott.

I don't know what I'd do with an iPad either.

As for Jobs' work on this one, I think it was OK except way too aggressive. He presented "evidence" that is too obviously not related. As in "this is better than our previous product". It simply doesn't say anything, except that the last one was even shittier.

Also, the whole "others have the same problem too" is a bit problematic, because clearly they don't have it in the same magnitude. I liked Motorola's answer the best, saying that they don't feel like telling their customers how they have to hold their phones. Exactly!!
