As someone who has coeliac disease, his symptoms are consistant with uncontrolled coeliac disease. If it is coeliac disease though, at least he is likely to grow out of it in his late teens (unlike me, who is stuck with it for the rest of my life). He's been drinking rice and soy milk for the past 3 months and dairy has been taken completely out of his diet. We tried giving him some enzymes to help kick start his gut but to no avail. It is worth mentioning that he has never really handled solid food well. The only time he was normal was when he was still on formula and homemade baby food.
I agree it could still be a food allergy, but he's been tested for all the normal stuff and we were referred to the GI by his allergist. So, we are doing what we are told on top of our own little experiments. |
