I laughed my ass off.

It sounds just like 90% of the stuff I hear on the radio.

I used to like rap.. when it required actual singing, the songs were creative and they actually rhymed. Now the **** is just annoying.

This is a correct stereotype of almost all new rap. take 1 sentance, usually less than 5-6 words, then repeat it 20 times with some bullshit in the middle that doesn't rhyme. Then take a rapper(called that because they can't sing) and use a computer to make it sound like they can sing.

Mainstream rap today is lazy, lame, and overproduced.

That guy from youtube did a great job of explaining it.

You guys who didn't find that funny pretty much suck,

that is one of the best parodies I've heard/seen in a long time. I mean how many rap songs are just like that, one line repeated over again on a big ass yacht in Florida or something. To top it off the song is better than the songs it's a parody of.

Was that supposed to be funny?

I don't find it particularly funny either.

I get what it's trying to do, but I think it'd be funnier if I actually watched (or listened to) the rap songs out there. I don't watch or listen to the songs it parodies, so the point is kinda lost right there.

Exactly. Which is probably why the humor is lost on people across the pond. Seriously, if you cut out all the Samberg stuff and took the part with T-Pain from timestamp 2:15 through 2:40, it would actually be a music video and radio hit.

For example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjTBH4_4pO0 sounds exactly like the parody video by Samberg, without (arguably...) ridiculous lyrics.
