Default The revenge of Joe Biden?
What's the big deal? Dowd simply watched and learned.

But apparently, she forgot about the whole "getting caught and spit-roasted" part.

This is such a perfect story. Idiotic leftwing NYT columnist gets caught plagiarizing from a leftwing blog that is literally named "Talking Points Memo"...

I'm glad you aren't partisan.

What? Are you saying that her flowery prose about Dick Cheney could be biased? I don't believe it!

Drake's left of center himself. He's not being partisan.

Jayson Blair must be kicking himself about now in jealousy over the support management is giving his new found compatriot.

I always thought Drake was right of center.
I'm a Columbia grad student and live in Manhattan.

When was last time you voted Democrat, Mr. wanna-be-left-of-center?

An ******* is neither left or right of center, unless you're deformed.

Well, the exception mentioned would still be in question since I neither know nor care to verify it.

Politically... left-right... moderate. Sure.

I don't vote consistently for either party. The last Presidential election was the first time I cast a vote for a major party candidate and that was only because it was so obvious who was offering more of the past 8 years. Too bad we got him...

McCain LOST the election though.

Haven't you been paying attention? Obama is the one continuing Bush's irresponsible fiscal policy and imperial foreign policy.

As much as I hate to admit it, Drake speaks the truth. Not that we didn't expect some reversals from the dem administration, but this is ridiculous.

There was a meeting set up by the admin to talk to some leftist civil rights groups about the latest 180s by Obama, and apparently he didn't like what they told him. I guess he got a little snippy about not being 100% accepted by the left.

Or course the REALLY hilarious thing about all this is that what's left of the GOP is still calling him a fascist socialist terrorist-appeaser. Which means I guess Bush was those things too.

Bush and Obama both suck. The country would be much better off if all the partisan hacks would accept that and allow the country to start electing real leaders.
Real leaders may actually lead somewhere. There are way too many special interests out there on both sides that stand to lose something. Nobody is willing to sacrifice anything. Then again I guess it has always been that way.

I'm disappointed with Obama in a few ways after having voted for him, but I don't think he SUCKS, nor do I regret having voted for him.

As long as I believe that Democrats have/will have a better record on civil rights issues than Republicans, I will take a messed up Democrat over a messed up Republican.

Gay marriage and abortion are both civil rights issues and still hugely relevant. And plenty of laws infringing civil rights to privacy etc. came in under Bush administration.

These things are the next front in the civil rights war but since the Republicans got into bed with the religious right they will struggle to push anything forwards on that.

So now, contrary to 30 years ago, Democrats appear to be the civil rights party.

They should be though. They are in the UK, Europe and other political climates where religion is properly separated from politics.

"Civil rights" in America = institutionalized discrimination against African Americans. The GOP was always better than the Dems on that issue.

Gays have tried to link their push for marriage rights with the black civil rights movement, but very few people buy the connection. Abortion is very rarely equated with the black civil rights movement, as far as I can tell.

Drake's making up his own definitions. Civil rights have changed since the 60s and includes rights for women and gays as well as other minorities- also class issues. It doesn't include abortion but you can usually find pro-choice people on the same side as civil rights.
