I ordered some at a sports bar awhile back.

Overrated, in my opinion.

Sliders could have been a good TV show. However, judging by the pilot, they forgot to hire someone who could act.

Any other 90s sci-fi I should check out? (besides Babylon 5)
It was problematic to find enough talent to do that type of show. It's amazing that BSG was able to get Eddie Olmos and Mary McDonnell to have signed on.

George Carlin: Tits sound like they're a snack, you know? Hey, try some of these. What are they? They're tits. Why thanks, don't mind if I do.

No, I'm now speaking of those tits. But new Nabisco Tits...in delicious flavors! There's cheese tits. And corn tits. And 'tater tits! Betcha can't eat just one!

Red Dwarf was great but I don't think he's looking for a comedy.
I can just imagine a critique of the show from the point of view of someone who thought it was meant to be a drama.

Yeah, the last good episode was when they explained the assassination of JFK.

I thought that Sliders was pretty good for the first season or two. It began to go down hill when they started to lose some of the original cast members.

When was a movie made?

My college friends and I used to call that show "Blow **** up in Space." We liked it.

Wasn't it basically Wing Commander?

No one (including me earlier) has mentioned Quantum Leap, which was pretty good too.

^ This.

I remember watching all the episodes that were featured in the title montage by the time I was 13, despite living in a girls' boarding school where we teeeeechnically weren't allowed to watch shows that came on as late as that.

Another fun thing that happened was we started taping the episodes on VHS, and the "Leap For Lisa" one had an odd anomaly. (This is the one which starts off with full frontal nudity and then proceeds to military law - two of my favorite subjects.) The episode went normally but then about 15 mins into it, somebody taped over it with a brief black-and-white three-minute softcore lesbian love scene between a blonde and a brunette. The blonde was top.

We taped the Quantum Leap episode when I was a stig (lowest year, age 13). We didn't discover the overtaping until I was a prefect (highest year, age 18). I remember sitting down with a handful of other nonplussed prefects and watching it and thinking "Okay, so somebody in the house is a lesbian. Somebody has been holding out..."
