Well, heres the problem, if its sig required, you gotta let them have one attempt befoer you can go ot terminal to pickup., that aside sometimes they do run early but dont count on it. next question, do you have any trustworthy neighboors?

they always ship on time or late for me. If you are worried about stuff getting stolen you can leave a note asking them to come back the next day, and unless you have an ass for a delivery guy they usually will. if your local hub isnt a major hub you may be able to pick up your package there without much trouble. I used to do that a lot in college because stuff would stolen at my apartment since I lived on main street. If i was expecting a package I would always leave a note saying I would pick the package up at the hub that afternoon. I usually showed up about 4:45, sometimes they were there at 5 sometimes not till 7, but once they left for the day they were gone.

With shipping carriers that really doesn't mean much. I've had them bring a package right through town so they could offload it at a distrbution center even farther away than the last one.

If UPS says delivery is scheduled for Wed, you will not get it earlier. UPS hates giving freebies, and I have had packages sitting because they are early.

Also keep in mind that UPS rushes nothing (unless you paid for it). If you needed it faster, you probably should have paid for it..

When in doubt, use FedEx (when available.) I live on the East Coast, and when I ordered my new monitor, it was shipped from California by Fedex ground. Shipped on Thursday, scheduled for a Wednesday delivery but it was here by Tuesday. In my experience, anything that UPS brings from the West Coast takes at least a week or more for regular ground shipping.
