Default Nokia 5500
My GF inspects electronics for a company that buys and sells them on eBay. She's been working way too much lately (long story why), and now she's like a freaking cell phone encyclopedia. I watched "Transformers" with her a few nights ago, and she drove me nuts identifying all the cell phones in it by sight and pointing them out to me. Anyway, I figured she might have some information on that particular phone, and sent her an e-mail.

EDIT: Her response (came quick, must be a slow day or something) was

"Honestly, I haven't seen more than one or two of those. They're newer smartphones,
so they're easy to erase your personal data from, and they're as well-made as most
Nokia phones-- and better than some (metal casing!), and have some weird specialized
features I can't imagine actually having a use for (jogging meter?)."

 Sorry we couldn't be of more help.

I know a few people with such phones but all their phones' rubber number pads get unglued after a few months.
I wanted to know if this is true for all these phones or is just a case of faulty batch of phones being sold here.

Oh and I forgot the Techmology forum . Mods can move this if they want to.

I asked about the number pad problem. She said they've had too few 5500s in to say about that particular model, but that she's seen such things in other Nokia models after people tried to give the phones new/custom casings. That was apparently only because they installed cheap-ass parts though. Dunno.
