I just got an email for another job position interview and don't know what to do so I'm asking my fellow onions for advice.
Current job: I currently work for the largest mobile company in Albania (Albanian Mobile Communications www.amc.al) as a Research Analyst. But due to my boss being an idiot so far I've only done statistical work. I've worked here since June 1st 2006 and was hoping to work at least for an year before even considering another job. The alternative: I got an email from Raiffeisen Bank (I think it's the largest in Albania) for a "Specialist in Public Relations" job position. They had my CV in their database and they said they arranged an interview on March 5th (that's monday) at 10.15 am. I've got a Bachelor's Degree in International Marketing and I'm 27. What do you people reckon will be the best position for me? Thanks, Deni. |

I reckon the best thing to do would be to show up for that interview and give it your best shot and learn about the position, what your responsibilities would be and if it’s a full time continuing position or contractual work, and what your compensation would be. Then compare these to your current job and maybe even make an appointment to talk to your boss and express your feelings about your current responsibilities and work and ask him what kind of timeline you’re looking at before you can start doing the things you want to be doing. Maybe even mention that you’ve had other offers which look a little more exciting but that you would like to stay with the company. Make sure to get the point across that you’re not just looking for a raise because another offer has come by but that you are feeling limited in your current position.
