Not sure, but I'm saving my for baby leave when baby 2 comes along about Febuary.

I'm going to drive out to Oregon/Montana/Washington in a couple of weeks, that ought to put a dent in my unused vacation days.

That includes a couple of days that are planned but not taken yet, so the true total is probably about 8.

Of course, our time off is a group of days that includes both vacation time and sick days. Which is great if you don't get sick, of course...

And before I get a chance to use any of them, Christmas, I will have 72. I used to think the Navy's 2.5 days of vacation was good until I realized you never get to use them and you can only carry 60 year to year. You don't use them during "POM" periods?

We are not allowed to roll them over for more than 6 months.

We dont get paid for the unused ones.

I just took three weeks off of work in the last month, which leaves me with 12.5 weeks of vacation left. I get about 5 weeks a year, more if I don't take any vacation or work overtime.

I'm in a new job so I only have the 19 days . I get 15 days standard plus they assign flex dollars that can be used to purchase extra days or other benefits.

Oh and do you count the fact that we get two Fridays off a month ???

I am salaried but am allowed to carry over as much as 25 days of vacation. This year I "bought" 4 days to go with my 15 but since I had a 3 week vacation in May before I took this job, I figure to carry over most of that vacation for next year. My goal is to accrue and accrue until I get a year where I can just take 8 weeks and go to Europe or Australia or something

I get none extra, it's either 45 years old or 10 years service and 45 years old to get the extra days.

So people who have been there 1 year but are 46 get more days than me!!

Here it's 2 weeks standard vacation, an additional week at 5 years, plus you can "buy" an additional week (essentially unpaid leave), which I always do.

It's gotten a little murkier since they merged vacation time and sick time, and I think there are more incremental steps where you get 2 days here, 2 days there as you accrue more service time.

IIRC, I got a total of 28 days this year (this includes my "bought" week) and because I rolled over 3 days, I had a grand total of 31.

High levels of federal employees here get 1/4 of the year off in holiday, personal days, and sick days...

high level federal employees (~level 32) get off, 1/2 a week a month holiday, and 1/2 a week a month sick and/or personal

it is really huge..
