Default Why won't Christians acknowledge error?
The previous thread, Why do people lie? did not accurately express the author's specific intentions. Norman Turner has re-phrased the original question to read, Why won't Christians acknowledge error? This applies to Christian institutions, as well.

Listed below may (or may not) be some of the reasons:
  1. fear of a possible penalty of some kind
  2. lowering of one's self-esteem
  3. acknowledging the incorrectness of a previous course of action
  4. difficulty in changing this course of action
  5. arrogance or lack of humility
  6. belief in the inerrancy of a tradition
  7. failure to discern the moving hand of God
  8. unwillingness to acknowledge or accept censure from the Lord

Please accept my apology for miscasting my previous thread. I welcome your comments on this new attempt.

Thank you,
Norm Turner, Toronto
